CFW: Night 2 Runway Recap

after a few days of recouping and processing last weeks events, i am finally back in order and ready with today's round up of runway shows!
night 2 of Charleston Fashion Week kicked off with Cavortress, a locally owned vintage boutique!
the collection was fun and fresh and put me in the mood for spring!!
following was Ike Behar. it was what you would expect from any menswear designer; classic and well tailored, they added a few touches of interest by throwing in a chic and using a tie as a belt but this little cutie up front stole the show!!
my favorite show of the night was the Art Institute of Charleston student show
they really showcased one of Charleston's well known treasures; the sweet-grass baskets, and transformed them into couture works of art!
emerging designers Rebecca Walker, Maria-Teresa Pena, Kaitlyn Machos, Cori Spade, and Stephanie Perry followed.  Each of the designers had their own aesthetic and there were some shining moments for sure.  Maria-Teresa had these black mesh veils over her models faces with greased down hair that was totally killer, Kaitlyn's background story made me cry and Cori Spade had this color-blocked jacket that i need in my closet ASAP!!!!
the final show was featured designer David Hart
this is a man after my own heart.  the collection was very throwback to the classics.  i was ready to doo wop into the night with ole blue eyes singing in the backround.  the broken glasses took it to a whole new level!  BRAVO!!  Standing O!  this man can design a suit!!
