blondes really do have more fun

well, they do when they're pint sized and dressed in my favorite color . . . leopard!!
this little diva is Lady Leah a 7 year old pure bread chihuahua with beautiful blonde locks and a button nose and by far my favorite "furry friday" companion to date!!
she is on the market for a new bestie / fashion momma (or daddy)
check out the link to her profile here
and browse her adoptable posh pals at Peanut's Place!!
not to be upstaged by my puppy pal, i pulled this skirt to help me swish and twirl my way down thru our walk
as you know, i am always a sucker for fringe and leather (faux of course) so this skirt was a given
denim shirts have slowly taken over my closet and they pair so well with everything (in my opinion), so this bleached out style helped add a touch of southern chic while the piled on turquoise accessories solidified the western boho vibe i was going for.
i toyed with a few shoe options and opted for these nude strappy sandals to keep focus on the skirt!
twirling my way into the weekend!!!

fighting the good fight

pretty much everyday is a casual day these days, especially as the weather heats up.
with sticky summer days ahead its all about simple separates and easy layers
these jeans have been a staple of mine for years, and while i usually pay good money for my holes, this knee tear was a total accident (who knew fat knees was an actual problem?)
this utility jacket is also a wardrobe veteran.  i consider olive a neutral and have accrued quite a collection of utility blazers, jackets and shirts to easily throw on over any look.
my camo booties are a new purchase and a total score at a belk end of season sale!!
shockingly, you can still find them online for full price, but hopefully with a little digging you can find a deal as good as i did!
happy hunting!!

im a lil bit country

casual weekends in the country call for casual layers and cowboy boots
every good southern girl owns a pair, and while i may not actually be southern, i see the attraction!!
i opted for the shorty as im not totally sold on the traditional style (as i said, im not actually a southern girl)  that said, i could wear these boots all day everyday and that's why i have 2 pairs!!
they are comfy, cute and made for walking
and literally go with everything!!
from skinny jeans to cutoff shorts, flouncy skirts to sundresses; these puppies have gotten their fair share of everyday wear.
if you're in the market for cowboy boots, i would suggest investing a bit of money.
Frye is my favorite brand for classic styles and endless comfort and on top of that, they have a lifetime warranty, making it totally worth the extra dough
i have had mine for over 5 years now and have definitely got my moneys worth and then some.

i only jog in leather

i realize it has been a minute since my last post and i apologize.
why not get back in the swing of things with a fun and furry friday!!!
this little guy is Rambo, a 2 year old chihuahua who was just adopted by a loving family!!
if you are interested in adopting a pooch of your own, simply go to www.peanutsplace.org and check out all his buddies!!
i'm not exactly a stellar athlete, nor do i partake in athletic activities on a regular basis; but, i do find myself being pulled toward athletic inspired clothing.
the varsity jacket, the baseball tee, the wedge sneaker, the track short . . . . i've invested in at least one of each of these pieces, and while i might not go full on phys ed by pairing them all together, i do really like focusing on 1 or 2 for a look.
these particular track shorts are one of my favorite because they mix my love of leather with the sporty comfort of an elastic waist and large pockets
i did keep it fairly more athletic by wearing my wedge sneakers and short sleeve sweatshirt, but the leopard print and spikey jewels add a touch of glam and little man's leash gives me that needed pop of color!!
casual, comfortable, and mommy approved, i plan on living in this outfit for the duration of summer!!

Sunny days ahead

I've paired up with Peanut's Place Small Breed Rescue for another Furry Friday!!
this handsome little man is, Marty, a 5 year old toy poodle who i am happy to report was just adopted and taken home to a new loving daddy!!
but fear not my furry loving friends, Peanut's Place has plenty other equally adorable pups for you to adopt!!
this guy was a girls best accessory, and truly stole my thunder in his houndstooth sweater
he matched me to perfection, you would swear we planned it!!  (but we really didn't i swear!)
the weather is really starting to heat up (thank goodness) and i'm so excited to wear some lighter layers!!  i love a muscle tee and how easily they can add the cool factor to any look.  i don't think there's much they cant be paired with, but my favorite is to dress them up with a blazer and i snagged this jacket from H&M a couple years ago, but it still had the tag on it (seriously!) i love the bright red color, which is why i bought it, but i've always felt it was a bit small and have never really found the right outfit to pair it with.  thanks again to "coat-slinging" for making it work!!
the skirt is a recent find at tjs and it's got the envelope vibe going on, plus the massive cargo pocket is an awesome extra!  there was no need for too many extras so i wore my favorite diamond chain and layered in some leather wraps to my everyday bangle set.  stuck with the black and white vibe on the shoes and purse and perfectly matched my borrowed pooch!!
"do small things with great love"
