oatmeal

let me start by saying, i am OBSESSED with this outfit!!  but literally.  actually, i'm pretty obsessed with everything at MOSA, remember this look??  they've got the goods!!  i am not nearly this chic on the day to day, but should i ever need to look the "ladylike" part, monochromatic is usually the route i take.  i'm not exactly sure why, but layers upon layers of any shade just works, ya know?  i kept it simple with my patent single straps and black sunnies and added a small pop of color with this adorable orange cross-body box clutch.  sorry for the short post, im fresh out of sarcasm and my boys are tearing apart my freshly folded laundry, sooo, ya know, i gots ta go!  happy (almost) friday!!

slap on a bib and call me a pilgrim

Good Evening!!  How was everyone's weekend?  Did y'all stay warm?  We woke up to snow on the cars Saturday morning which was pretty freaking exciting if you ask me.  It would have been more awesome if it actually stuck, but, hey, beggars can't be choosers, right??  so, to say our carolina weather has been fickle would be the understatement of the year, but i have been enjoying these brisker days, if only for the excuse to pile on some layers.  today's look is all about that too hot for the colony, pilgrim chic.  this was one of those outfits that fell together so gloriously that i had to make a moment of it.  breaking it down in order of compilation; i finally bit the bullet and ordered these otk boots (such a steal, bee tee dubs) and was dying to style them with a little mini, and then the perfect one came in the mail from Tres Carmen!!  fashion happenstance numero uno!!  then, i was thinking, how do i play in to the preppiness of the plaid?  in comes happenstance numero dos!  i have been on the hunt for the perfect white shirt for like ever.  seriously though, forever!  who knew it was so hard to find a crisp button down?  well, truthfully, i've found plenty, but the price was never quite right, but this one finally hit the bill and i sized up so i can style it both tucked and un.  my jacket was another happy coincidence, because it was already sitting happily in my closet which means i didn't have to spend a dime, and it took me from hit me baby to its britney (you know who) .  i topped it off with this hat (also already perched smiling down on me from the shelves of my walk-in) and i thought, this is a pretty solid outfit.  the only thing that was missing, was some sort of necklace to tie it all together.  i have been loving the long scarf trend, have you seen this??  i thought it was a potential possibility, but then i remembered seeing this glorious bow bib at M&L and it was like the fashion epiphone of the century!!  ok, not really, but if i was a cartoon character (and who's to say i'm not) big flashing fashion light bulbs were lighting up the top of my head like the vegas strip.  the final piece de resistance was this giant, double chain, drool-worthy python tote that really steals the show of any outfit and puts the Karl Lagerfeld stamp of approval on my whole look.  i mean, i didn't actually go anywhere, except for to meet my photographer and make sure this outfit went down in fashion blogger photo history, but i kind of think its pretty major, don't you?? thanks for stopping by babes, hope you have a fab week!!

belle on a budget: the house of sage frayed white skinny

you guysssssss!!!  it's a new year, but i'm still the same ole belle and i'm finally back on a budget!!  this week was so fun, because i got to hang with some of my fave people at one of my favorite stores House of Sage!   catering to my love of all things bohemian with a rocker twist and a healthy selection of super cool aussie brands, HOS is always on my must stop shopping list.  and, it doesn't hurt that they're currently in the midst of their annual Red Tag Sale, so you know i had to get in on some of that super sale goodness!!  so, before you start, YES!  yes yes yes, those are white jeans you see me wearing.  i like to refer to them as "winter white" although in a few months they are totally going to become my "spring white" and then my "summer white" and i'm pretty sure they will eventually circle back around to becoming my "fall white" because,  . . . maybe you haven't heard, but it's totally always right to wear white!!  call it breaking the quote unquote rules if you must, but honestly, who follows any of those old adages anyways?  so, if you're a little slow and are yet to catch on, today's budget friendly topic of discussion is The White Jean!  more specifically; these frayed hem, distressed knee, super skinny, white skinny jeans.  i wear white year round.  i think it's crisp and chic and much like black, it goes with everything!  every girl should have white jeans in her arsenal.  to wear them now, layer up!  i always love an all white moment; think white skinnies, white button down and a chunky white sweater, or my favorite color pairing; white and olive, or "khaki" as the kids are calling it these days.  truly, i'm just a sucker for anything olive or military inspired.  so, to stay warm in my winter whites, i layered this fur trimmed bomber over a graphic tee and slipped on a great pair of black booties.  on a side note: are you guys loving these frayed hems as much as i am??  it's such a fresh approach to the skinny jean and i love that they hit so perfectly at the ankle.  i totally scored this exact pair in dark blue so if you're not ready to jump on the winter white band wagon, you can save these for summer and rock the denim pair now!  did i mention they're only $58??  yea, you can see why i need them in every color.  you're welcome!
now here comes the easy part.  wearing later!  they're white jeans.  they go with everything!  i am totally dreaming of sunnier days, so i styled them with this amazing blouse, killer fringe clutch and slip on mules. (which is also a big trend i'm loving, apparently).  you can shop both of these looks now at House of Sage and listen to this mornings podcast with 2 Girls and a Guy HERE!!
