varsity blues

Good Morning Lovies!!
the babes are taking over the blog today with what I would call and explosion of cuteness!!
these pictures make me smile, not just because they're of my boys, but because they are a celebration of all that our littlest munchkin has been through.  many of you know, and im sure many of you are hearing for the first time, but Lincoln was officially declared cancer free and his immune system is on the mend, which means, he can finally go outside and play in the dirt, and chase after his brother, and do all the things little boys love to do.  i have to say, through everything, both these boys have made me so proud!!  Lincoln for his strength and fighting spirit, he truly kicked cancers butt and even though it took his hair, he never lost that smile.  and Phoenix for his caring and understanding.  he is the best big brother to his bubba and spent many o days stuck in a hospital room, entertaining us all.
i am so grateful for these two and all that they teach me everyday.
and thank you to you guys!  the love and support and prayers have meant everything to us!

pop up in white

ok, so im really taking throwback Thursday literally and taking you back to last months Pop-Up Dinner.  if you read my article for Carolina Style Mag, you know the night was pretty fab-tastic!!  pretty much any event that includes food and fashion and im down, and this night included both, plus soo much more!!  the dress code was white, so I took note from my own post and ordered this tuxedo dress for the occasion.  i'm pretty obsessed with it, my only mistake was not reading the size guide and I ended up with a dress about 3 sizes too big.  thanks goodness for a master seamstress, because she managed to pull off a serious fix in 1 day.  beyond that minor mishap, this dress is Everything!!  I love the asymmetrical hem and the gold zipper and of course, im a sucker for a blazer, so it was really screaming my name.  I edged it up a bit with these chunky black peek-a-booties and added simple gold accessories.  to try something new, I took on the half braid hair trend a la Cara Delivigne and kept my look a little rocker chic.  I definitely need to wear this again over the holidays, maybe in a more polished manor . . . . how do you winterize your whites??

inVESTing in the classics

how is it possible that the holidays are already upon us? I'm feeling a bit unprepared, how bout you?? It truly set in while shopping this past weekend and seeing the Christmas tree being put up at the Towne Centre, so I guess its official!! The countdown is on, and I have a bit of catching up to do. First on my list, fabulous fall/winter layers like this oversized vest!! You know I love a topper, and a vest is a great way to showcase your layers with a fresh twist. As it gets colder, a chunky sweater, or even a leather jacket would look great underneath, but for our barely brisk weather, I chose this beautiful silk blouse. Not only is the color striking, but the details on the sleeve and waistline add those extra touches that make it that much more special. a dark skinny is always a great base to keep the look dressy and polished, plus these Hudson's are crazy comfy and super stretchy, leaving me plenty of room to fill my tummy with all the delicious treats to come! (and the ones I've already devoured, shhh). Lastly, lets chat about my fave shoe trend, the "shoetie". Part bootie, part pump, this heel is so perfect for every outfit!!! I'm loving grey this season as my new neutral, you really can't go wrong.
I hope you all have a super fab week!!! Mine will be spent shopping for sure!

Shag Queen

scrolling through my insta, it seems as though I've been on a fancy feminine kick lately.  i do occasionally like to pretend im a "lady", but if you know me, you know that's not really the case.  i'm not sailor status; I don't curse, i'm just a bit loose with my tongue, and my yankee sass tends to dominate most conversations.  its a blessing and a curse I suppose, the blessing being; you always know what im thinking which makes me blatantly honest, the curse being; you always know what im thinking because im blatantly honest!!  im working on it guys, bare with me!!  so anyways, im so happy to be back in my leopard skin today and embracing my rocker roots.  this is how i want to dress everyday!  basically all my favorite elements are covered; leather (faux of course), leopard, band tee, bed head, fringe and even though its not fur, it might as well be!  don't be shocked if you see this on repeat!  so starting with this shag sweater, i mean . . . . . do i need to elaborate?  it's a massive fluff ball of fabulousness and i'm obsessed!!!  i paired it with my basic uniform (graphic tee, skinnies, booties, sunnies) and channeled my inner Penny Lane.
hope y'all have a happy hump day!!
