easy peasy lemon squeezy

hello!!  ok so yes, it is technically speaking the first day of september, but technically speaking, it is still officially summer, which means i can still dress in bright fun outfits like this for at least another week.  i mean, if we really want to get technical, this outfit is pretty perfect for 9-10 months out of the year here in sc, but i will eventually ease into the sweaters and dark colors and pretend im not sweating bullets in all my layers when its in the 70's in november.  charleston doesn't really understand the concept of "fall weather".  so anyway, for now i am squeezing in (pun intended) every single second of summer acceptable dressing.  these pants are pretty much the cutest thing i've ever owned.  i never knew i loved lemons so much until these citrus skinnies arrived in the mail.  i immediately tried them on with multiple tops and i honestly can't believe i'm just now getting them up on the blog, but in addition to the adorable print, the fit is pretty spectacular!!  i've honestly never shopped at talbots before, so i wasn't sure, but i'm quite impressed.  the crop fit is perfect for showing off my summer sandals.  i paired it with one of my favorite white tops from last summer and my denim jacket that i've basically worn with every single outfit all summer.  i hope you're not sick of it, because i know i'll be wearing it all fall as well.  im looking at the darker wash to switch it up a bit.  you can never have too many jean jackets, right??  i think that's pretty much my denim philosophy as a whole.  skinnies, skirts, jackets, chambrays, there's no such thing as too much denim.  enjoy your day loves!!

dont bake it, fake it!!

happy Monday!!  I hope everyone thoroughly enjoyed their weekends!!  we had a legit scorcher!!  im talking 108 degrees of sweltering heat and no sign of showers to cool it off.  its weather like that that makes today's post that much more important!!  I use to be a grease up and lay out all day kinda girl, but then I had a little skin scare that taught me the valuable lesson of spf 70!  in the rare chance you find me worshiping the sun, I will be saturated in sun screen and a lot myself an hour and a half tops.  my favorite way to get a tan, and keep it year round, is by spraying it on!  im pretty much casper pale so I have tried just about every brand on the shelf and they all serve their purpose, but for today's post I upped the annie and went to the professionals for a legit spray tan!  this was my first experience with VersaSpa and it was quite a pleasant one.  I knew from my in home experiences, that exfoliation is key and i lotioned up my rough spots before entering the booth.  in less than 10 minutes, I was in and out and head to toe tanned!!  this might be my new guilty pleasure!!
on to the pool to show off my new tan and cool off from the brutal heat!  I am usually more of a bikini girl, but one-pieces have a chic appeal and bare enough while leaving plenty to the imagination.  I went a lil boho/glam with these black sunnies and head scarf and threw on my favorite new accessory, the body chain!  as much as i love to layer on the bangles, the chlorine is none to friendly, so i got my gold fix and tatted up with these flash tattoos (literally obsessed!) and hooked up my mani with some funky nail wraps from Jamberry.  (i will definitely be revisiting these in posts to come, but if you haven't tried them yet, you totally should!!)
so remember ladies, why ray, when you can spray!!  and check back at midnight because 1 lucky reader will win a VersaSpa spray tan to be used at your local booth!!!

purple rain

back to boho today in what is most definitely one of my favorite purchases this summer.  i have worn this dress more times than i can count.  obviously, i love my leopard prints, but it is quite possibly the most comfortable dress ive ever slipped myself into.  for today's time around, i dressed it up a bit with these lace-up sandals and faux leather fringe jacket.  i added a few more touches of black with my cross body and ray-bans and layered on lots of gold accessories.  my wood bangles are both so old, but i just love way they play off the prints in the dress.  a few pops of neon give it the just enough punch with my poppy manicure, cobalt stone necklace, and lime lace trim bralette.  in speaking of undergarments, i ALWAYS opt to wear them!!!  (and HELLO!! you should too!!!)  i know it can be tough sometimes if something is too shear or too strappy, but that just calls for some creativity!!  there are so many options these days, from beautiful bralettes to sticky boobs, you can always find a fix.  i tend to go the "let it show" route, and buy up as many pretty, bright, lacey bras i can find.  they're made to be seen, and i let them do just that!!

sharp dressed man

happy Monday babes!!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!!  I am sad to say, today marks the last installment of the "man candy monday" series.  it might be back again for fall, but for now, I leave you on a high note!!  a man in a suit is to women, what a girl in lingerie is to guys.  and even though is not a full suit, to me its even better!!  I grew up with a dad who went to work everyday in a custom suit and fresh pressed shirt with a "power tie".  he only owned 1 pair of jeans that he'd had since his 20's and probably still has them sitting in his closet somewhere.  I remember going to the tailor and helping him pick out fabrics and sport coats.  even as a child, I was a budding stylist, eager to put together the perfect men's ensemble.  I still love a man in a suit, but im even more fond on the modern spin.  a sport suit is a fresh take on the classic and can take a man from client meetings to dinner plans.  starting with the denim, I chose this dark wash, added a cuff to the hem, pairing it with this crisp white dress shirt and gray 2 button blazer.  all the pieces are polished and minimal with attention to detail.  clean-cut, sharp-dressed, boardroom ready!!
