easy peasy lemon squeezy

hello!!  ok so yes, it is technically speaking the first day of september, but technically speaking, it is still officially summer, which means i can still dress in bright fun outfits like this for at least another week.  i mean, if we really want to get technical, this outfit is pretty perfect for 9-10 months out of the year here in sc, but i will eventually ease into the sweaters and dark colors and pretend im not sweating bullets in all my layers when its in the 70's in november.  charleston doesn't really understand the concept of "fall weather".  so anyway, for now i am squeezing in (pun intended) every single second of summer acceptable dressing.  these pants are pretty much the cutest thing i've ever owned.  i never knew i loved lemons so much until these citrus skinnies arrived in the mail.  i immediately tried them on with multiple tops and i honestly can't believe i'm just now getting them up on the blog, but in addition to the adorable print, the fit is pretty spectacular!!  i've honestly never shopped at talbots before, so i wasn't sure, but i'm quite impressed.  the crop fit is perfect for showing off my summer sandals.  i paired it with one of my favorite white tops from last summer and my denim jacket that i've basically worn with every single outfit all summer.  i hope you're not sick of it, because i know i'll be wearing it all fall as well.  im looking at the darker wash to switch it up a bit.  you can never have too many jean jackets, right??  i think that's pretty much my denim philosophy as a whole.  skinnies, skirts, jackets, chambrays, there's no such thing as too much denim.  enjoy your day loves!!

happy friyay yinz guys!!  lol, I know, yinz isn't nearly as sweet sounding as y'all, but I thought i'd give it a whirl.  that's how we talk in the burgh, you know.  yinz guys n'at.  lets go daantaan n eat a primantis samich n'at.  it's a very attractive accent ;)  i never spoke strong pittsburgese, but i have a few words here and there and when family comes in town, it all comes back to me.  if you follow me on instagram, you know i had a nice little 2 day staycay with the kids last week.  well, as much as id love to think im just that fabulous and i take mini vacays all the time, this is hardly the case.  my older sis was in town from pa with her 3 kids, and after a weekend in the country, they wanted a taste of the good life that Charleston has to offer, so daantaan we went (that's downtown for those of you non-burghers).  technically we were actually in mount pleasant, which is just over the bridge from downtown at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina.  it was pure heaven let me tell you.  private beach, walks on the pier, sunsets by the pool, I never wanted to leave.  and neither did the boys, they had so much fun!!  my kids are obsessed with my sissy's kids and were so sad when we all had to go home.
sunnies, hat and this large tote have been my best companions all summer when were out and about under the Carolina sun.  this heat, I mean, its basically clothing optional at this point.  if it was socially acceptable to wear my unmentionables everywhere, I probably would.  but since no one really wants to see that, im forced to put on real clothes and breezy dresses are a girls best friend!  this dress has taken me from church, to GNO, to a wedding at the lake and errands with the kids.  its a swing style, but for todays look, I tied the two sides together to try the new shirting trend I keep seeing on my fave bloggers.  I love the bold tomato orange hue and totally plan on layering it up with a navy blazer as we enter in to fall.  or maybe tan.  those 3 hues tend to pair so well together!  stay posted, im sure it'll pop up on my instafeed.  thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend ladies!!

monday funday!  oh wait no, that's sunday.  and yesterday was very much a fun day!  today, ehh, not so much.  the weekend has left my house in a full blown, stage 10 disaster zone; the boys are beyond restless and ramming their bicycles into the wall and mav is sitting on my lap screaming with a bad case of gas.  all in all, its shaping up to be a normal day in the house of belle.  if you have kids, I know you can relate.  if you don't, well then let's just move on to the topic at hand, vacation!!!  oh how i wish we were back on vacation!  I've worn this Belle Boutique dress 3 times now, but my favorite was when we were in that vacay state of mind.  for the most part, all of our meals were enjoyed in our room because of the aforementioned offspring of mine, but we ventured off the resort for dinner on this night to a Japanese steak house.  the sushi you guys, omg.  maybe its just because i spent 9 months dreaming of raw fish on a roll of rice, but, it was soooo yummy!  and the boys loved the whole hibachi chef experience.  it was the perfect family dinner situation.  so, back to the dress, neon just screams SUMMER, don't you think?  i love the flowy fit and floral print.  i cinched it in with (SHOCKER) my go to "belt" of the season, a denim jacket!  my lace-up sandals were the perfect shoe to pull out the black and i wish i could find these guys again, because i love them so much, i need more colors!!  lastly, i toted this absolutely adorable pom bag.  vacation was a great excuse to carry this cutie everywhere, but i'm still making great use of it now that were home, because its way too fun to leave hanging in the closet.  now im off for my second dose of caffeine and hopefully a quick clean up before i work in a sweat sesh!  (confession:  I've only worked out once since vacay, does anyone have some great tips to stay motivated??)  love you guys!!

Good Afternoon Chicas!!!  I hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend!  we are back from vacay, but the never-ending pile of laundry has me dreaming of mocktails under the palm trees.  it's already noon and I still haven't put on real clothes or unpacked a single thing, so i'd say i'm making progress, no?  I plan on burying myself in work (and I use the term loosely) for the rest of the day and ignoring the explosion of luggage in our kitchen.  so lets discuss this quote unquote work that I speak of.  "blogger" is technically my job title, but creatively I consider myself a stylist.  styling is where my love affair with fashion started and it is the main reason behind my blog.  when I first started in retail, dressing the mannequins was my favorite!  I would give them names, give them personalities, basically create my very own plastic girl group.  nowadays I really only get to style myself and as fun as that is, I miss that human contact.  sorry, I should mention, I styled breathing human beings as well, but the plastic ones were still my favorite ;).  my job as blogger has awarded me some amazing opportunities, some of them have even allowed me to put back on the stylist cap, and 2 weeks ago I got to do just that with my favorite subject, Men's Fashion!!  some of you may remember my Man Candy Monday series??  I really think I need to bring that back.  anyways, 2 weeks ago, Belk put some serious faith in me, and gave me the most amazing opportunity to style their Men's Fall Lookbook.  unfortunately there were no hot models for me to work with, which was probably best for their HR department (I don't know if you know this about me, but im extremely inappropriate and lack the ability to filter what might come out of my mouth.  I'm not currently seeking help, but I acknowledge that I have a problem).  I can't wait to share all the style statements with you guys and show you my looks, but for now you will have to wait and enjoy these women's fashions from Belk that I styled on myself.

this pink dress is a lot of, well, pink!  when I style myself in something so full of color, my first thought is always, how can I break this up?  I love head to toe monochromatic if its separates, but in the case of one item head to toe, whether it be a jumper or a dress, I like to add intrigue to the look by adding layers.  everyone can throw on a dress right?  this is my inner struggle.  I feel like if I just throw on a dress and heels, all that I've shown you is a dress and heels.  not that there's anything wrong with that, its just that I haven't inspired anything for you.  I'm not showing you a look, i'm showing you a dress.  with this dress, the options are endless.  its essentially a big blank pink slate, so you can style it 100 different ways and never wear the same look twice.  jackets are always my favorite layer and I have worn this dress (and just about every other dress that I own) with a denim jacket tied around at my waist.  I don't know why i'm really into that right now.  remember last summer when it was a bit of a debate??  well it was a definite YES for the win, but in an effort to show you a bit of diversity, I wore an actual belt this time, and instead of tying the sleeves around my waist, I put my arms through them.  I love how tough meets pretty with this moto leather and sheer pink.  I added a few delicate accessories and my floral single straps to complete the look.  love you ladies for following along, have a great week!!

ok, so before we start, lets just acknowledge the elephant in the room, and by elephant I mean melons, and by melons, I mean these ginormous bubbies of mine.  seriously there's no hiding these puppies unless I wear a turtleneck and those aren't exactly nursing friendly.  so I apologize ahead of time, I know they're massive, but, they'll be gone soon enough, so just avert your eyes for now.  on to the good stuff, ie THIS ROMPER!!  the color is muy bueno, the fit is perfection and the lace . . . . EVERYTHING!  love love love would be an understatement.  i really didn't think it needed much styling, but just to make it my own, i slung my denim jacket over my shoulders and threw my hair in a mini top knot.  what else can i say?   its all about the romper!  have a great weekend lovies!!!
