holy chic

biker chic that is!!!  I mean . . . . I totally scored big at the outlets, but my favorite purchase is this vegan leather jacket!!  I have been trying to find the perfect black leather biker for years now, but haven't found quite what I was looking for, until now!!  not only is it animal friendly, but with a price tag under $100, its easy on the wallet as well!!  and most definitely a must have for the upcoming season, so forgive me now if you're sick of seeing this bad boy by the end of winter, because I full on intend to wear it like every single day!!  so, moving on for the jacket, (i'll have plenty more posts to swoon over it)  this look started with the pant!!  you know I love my loungewear, and this is a style from last season that you most likely already have in your wardrobe, so it easily transitions you into fall with heavier layers.  this is my first floral pair, and im totally digging on the dark print.  I paired it with this graphic tee and as I said before, this trend is here to stay!!  I just had to have this play on words.  not only do I totally overuse the word "chic", but i'm also someone who never uses curse words, so I found it a bit cheeky and ironic making it that much more fun!!  these booties solidified my bad girl biker vibe and I topped it off with sunnies to match the pants and a gold clutch for a pop of metallic.  all together, i think this might be my favorite look of the week and totally an outfit I will be recreating over and over again!!

shades of grey

back to school, back to school . . . . I was a bit of a rebel in my highshool days, but pre hormones I was all about some back to school shopping!!! I mean, who doesn't love a new wardrobe??  growing up in the north, it was all about layers, which is probably why I still to this day can't leave my house without a jacket.  its bred in you from infancy, "don't cry to me when you catch a cold"!  my layers are a little lighter living in the south, but still, they are ever present.  this silk shawl jacket is the perfect transitional layering piece.  I can totally wear it now and it will take me thru Christmas if last years lack of a winter is any indication.  black and white is by no means a new trend, but for fall it is definitely all about color-blocking the classic combo.  so I chose to pair this jacket with white leather paneled skinnies.  these are another great transitional piece, because the white makes them summer friendly and the leather takes them thru to fall, not to mention totally on trend and totally sexy!  I contemplated a plain black or white top, but it seemed to obvious and a bit boring, so I chose this graphic tee instead.  the graphic tee, like the black and white trend is nothing we haven't seen before, but this is definitely one of my faves and im pretty sure its here to stay for quite a while!!  a few pops of color with my accessories and of course, a fab pair of sunnies (thanks blaire!!)

it takes two

the weekend may be over, sigh, but I could not be more happy for Monday because i have finally convinced the hubby to make an appearance on the blog!!!!  he may not be the man candy you're used to seeing from Kurt, but personally, models aren't really my type.  i like a real man with that big boy physique!  if you're wandering why the layers and long sleeves, no, we're not facing a cold front, its actually been painfully hot, but with the kids going back to school next week and fall just around the corner, i teamed up the Tanger Outlets to inspire your fall wardrobe "TangerStyle"!!
i'm sure most have you have been to an outlet or two and if you love to save as much as i do, you probably frequent them often!!!  growing up, my mom would treat me to the hour long drive up to the outlet mall, it was my favorite shopping destination!!!  i would save up all my money so i could buy something special, usually from ESPRIT!  who remembers that store??  now as grown woman with 3 boys to clothe, plus myself of course, i'm still shopping the outlets and i'm so fortunate to have them mere minutes away!!   after a full weekend of shopping the "tax free" sales, i have totally stocked up for fall and will be bringing you my best looks all week!!
starting with today, Date Night!!
nights out ALONE with the hubby are few and far between, but when we do get a moment to ourselves, we opt for dinner and a movie.  its so nice to enjoy a meal with real utensils and adult conversation!  although, if you're a parent, you know the conversation always comes back to the kids.  even in their absence, they still seem to dominate all your time.
when choosing an outfit, i think about, looking chic and comfortable and warm! (movie theaters tend to be freezing and the gallon size slushee really helps to set in the chill)  layering items are a must have for fall and i am always looking to add more toppers to my wardrobe, so starting with the blazer, i found this gem at BCBG.  i love the shawl style lapel and the stripes make it a bit more fun than my average jacket.  the red pant was a happy coincidence and could not have matched better if they were made for each other!  colored pants will definitely still be making the rounds this fall, and this pair is also showcasing the moto trend (one of my faves!) which is back again in full force!!  i chose a dark denim shirt to break up the matchy matchy and added a fun pop of leopard with the belt.  the sunglasses also add a bit of intrigue with their 2-tone lucite and tortoise frame.  i topped it off with this bucket bag (yes, the same one i already have in white).
for J's look, comfort is always his number 1 objective and cotton is his comfort zone.  i always struggle a bit when shopping for him as he's border line big and tall, but when i find something that fits, i buy it in every color!  this henley is one of his favorites and season after season, i add more to his collection.  the broken-in chino is also a go-to so i was so excited to find them in a print!  (this country boy would never pass up on camo!)  i was actually searching for a pair of white adidas for myself when i came across this chambray pair of samoas.  i love the color combo, and with blue being the main color in Jeremy's closet, i wont ever have to worry about him matching!
