sale away

good (almost) afternoon!!  i am loving all these transition to fall pieces that keep popping up in my feed, but honestly, i live in the south, which means 90 degree days are far from over and sweater weather is many months away.  so my version of transitioning into fall looks something like this.  but then again, my summer style looks a lot like this as well, so who's to tell the difference?  that's the beauty of my 3 key pieces!!  chambray is always ALWAYS on trend.  year round, rain or shine, you can find me wearing this lightweight denim alternative.  and this top comes from literaly THE. CUTEST. STORE. EVER!!  Pink Chicken opened up on King Street days after i found out mav was going to be a boy, leading me to beg the owner to create some styles for the only gender i seem to be able to create.  but if you're lucky enough have daughters, this shop is a dream!!  from floral print dresses to sequin slippers to popsicle fans and fur headbands, this store is like i said, the cutest!!!  remember that straw pouf tote?  just another one of the chicken's adorable accessories!  this top comes from their women's collection, and aside from feeding my chambray addiction, the floral embroidery and peasant fit give me something my other shirts are lacking.  and total bonus, i spotted mega mom babe Emily Henderson wearing the dress version of this style the same day i took my top out for a spin which had me feeling all the more pleased in my choice, because i was in seriously enviable company!  i paired the top with white skinnies which is another great year round style.  i know i know, no white after labor day, right?  well, i say wrong, and i think most of the fashion community would concur.  there's no real rules anymore, and the first one that needed to be broken was this one.  this particular pair has been seen on just about every blogger out there and after liking to know it about one hundred times, i finally gave in and bought them, and im so glad that i did because they are the most perfect fit!!  my last transitional/year round style is actually a color.  cognac!  its that in the middle shade where nude meets brown and it is a year round neutral must have in the accessory department.  these lace-ups are perfect with their summer style and the suede keeps them heavy enough to wear through to fall.  i hope y'all have a great day and remember to check out Mondays post to enter in my luggage giveaway!

lacey layers

good morning!!!!  sorry I was a bit mia last week.  I promise I tried, but we had soo so much going on and then lightning struck our internet box, so that kinda put a kink in my blogging plans.  and I know what you're thinking, wifi hotspots are everywhere, right?  how bout WRONG!!  lol, I live in the country you guys, and when I say the country, I mean the cuuuuuuuuntray!  we have 1 grocery store, 2 stop lights and a super Walmart.  and that's only if I travel in to town.  because, if moving to the country wasn't remote enough, we decided to move to the suburb/farm land side of the country where no one can find us.  a bit of a change from the way I grew up, but my boys are bumpkins and absolutely love spending everyday outside, barefoot, doing what redneck boys do.  it's my version of the simple life.  and speaking of simple, I am still all about this basic, simplistic style that is taking over the blogs.  my wardrobe has quickly turned into everything white, denim and utility.  I think I have worn a different variation of this look at least a dozen times over the past month and im totally planning on taking the look in to fall.  I found this little lace number at Sheinside and its a dead ringer for a free people style I've been eyeballing for months.  have you guys ever shopped this site??  I have browsed around a time or two, but never pulled the trigger because the prices are so cheap, I just assumed the quality would be too.  I was honestly pleasantly surprised.  you'll notice the lace is totally sheer, but that was noted on the site, so I knew I was going to need to layer it and my lace bralette did the trick.  I topped it off with my newest utility jacket and lots of fun accessories.  I can't wait to style this palette for fall.  i'm already thinking white chunky knit sweaters and fur lined army jackets and denim everyday!!  oh yes, I can't wait!  I hope you ladies have a wonderful day and I promise to get back to my regular schedule this week!
ps.  remember that NYFW giveaway from last week??  well, there's still a few more days left to enter and today I have a new giveaway with the perfect gear to have you traveling to nyc in style!!  be sure to check it out below and enter HERE for your chance to win a fashion girls dream trip!!  good luck!

palmdale

Good Morning!!!  I have hungry children yanking on my arm, and a full day of errands, so im gonna try (key word being try) to keep it short, but im a rambler, so, who am I really kidding.  this dress has me feeling all tropical resort/fabulous vacation ready!  lucky for me, I live in a vacation destination city, making this palm print oh so perfect for everyday.  I love this easy breezy fit, because when your dripping in sweat (and if you look close, I totally was) clingy fabric is not your friend and sweat stains are so not cute.  plus, and the main reason I love flowy dresses, you can stuff your face and hide the food belly without even having to try.  this was me all weekend.  stuffing my face, time and again at all of our weekend festivities.  I have to say, southerners really know how to feed a girl.  I think I have officially eaten every possible type of meat (sorry vegetarians), cheese, dips and desserts and even though my tummy is totally yelling at me today, it was so worth it at the moment.  in case you didn't know, this girl likes to eat, ALOT!!  so you can see why flowy is my friend.  back to the look at hand; I tried to keep it fairly simple and paired it with my nude single straps and layers of delicate jewelry.  not a denim jacket in sight, aren't you proud of me??   have a fabulous day ladies!!

minty fresh

i'm pretty sure I already mentioned this, but I am loving everything white right now!!  I mean, I always love white, but I've been overloading on it lately, because i just can't get enough.  it's not exactly the most ideal color for a mom of 3 sticky children, but, that's what bleach is for, right?  this tunic dress is so light and airy, its perfect for these 100 degree days we've been having!  i just love the detailed neckline and the ruffle hem looks so cute popping out from under my denim jacket.   (I know, I know, enough with the jacket already!  sorry to say, this is a style I plan on taking with me in to the fall.)  for a little pop of color and to give it more boho appeal, I laced up these blue sandals, which are on super sale right now and come in an assortment of fab colors!!  should I get another pair?  lace-ups are such a great year round sandal and i think my shoe closet is slowly being taken over by a pair in every color.  my signature stack for summer has been a bit more fun with pops of color and tassels mixed in and im still obsessing over this wood watch.  it's such a great neutral and a bit more fresh than my classic gold.  i hope y'all have a great day and if I don't make it back before the weekend, enjoy!!
