belle on a budget: the mosa boutique boyfriend jean

good morning babes!!  are you stuffed?  are you cyber shopped out??  pshhhhh ya, i hear ya.  i am so happy to finally be back to style posts, and my favorite kind of fashion . . . . on a budget!!  this week i've teamed up with Mosa, a fab newish 'tique on upper king, carrying a killer selection of both men's and women's clothing with that high/low mix that you know i love.  so, ok, seriously, i wanted to hang out and shop with these girls all day.  there's a lounge, there's fresh bevs, there's a dart board; next time i need to distract the hubs while i spend his money, you know where to find me!!  and, yea, it was really hard not to go a little nuts because i could've easily bought basically everything.  the vibe is cutting edge and chic and tailored and sexy and gooood, like reeeeeaaal good y'all.  very city, very sleek, ok you get it, i'm obsessed!!  so seeing as i'm a little too poochie to be pulling off anything structured at the moment, today's trend is all about my favorite loose fitting friend, the boyfriend jean!  regardless of the time of year, bfs are always a winner in my book, but especially after a week long feast of the gods, when the skinnies are fitting quite like they need too and that tummy needs a little room to breath.  so when it comes to fit, my moto is pretty much, "the baggier the better".  skinnies are meant to be tight, bfs are not.  they're comfy and broken in and they comfort you when you're feeling bad about yourself and all the pie that you've eaten.  hence the name, ladies!!  so, with the holidays upon us and much shopping left to do, i styled these guys to have you ready to hit the pavement and bang a few items off your list.  personally, i like to be stylish, but comfortable (i know, enough with the comfy already. i need to expand my vocabulary, im sorry.) when i'm running around all day.  you're in and out of stores, you're changing a lot, you're walking a lot . . . so for the aforementioned reasons, i layered on a loose tank and chunky sweater in the most perfectly soft hue of baby blue, it's almost the exact shade of mavie's eyes, which might be why i love it so, but also, pastels tend to be very flattering for all skin types.  and i don't know about you, but when i eat bad, it shows all over my face, so the last thing i want is to put some harsh tones against puffy/blotchy skin, right?  and its uber cozy (this is technically not the same as comfy, i'm expanding ;)) and speaking of cozy, omg, this jacket??  it's basically a blanket.  a blanket in the form of a seriously cool biker jacket, but still, blanket-esque.  ok, my last rule for shopping, is "hands free is key!"  always, ALWAYS carry a cross-body bag.  you need to be able to search and plunder and juggle a latte and an arm full of shopping bags, so you don't need to add your massive tote bag to the equation.  this is probably the only time i carry a small bag, because i tend to be an over-packer when it comes to my purse, but for shopping, you really only need your cell phone, keys and a credit card, so this little envelope bag did just the trick.  be sure to tune in to 2 Girls and a Guy this morning to hear more about this look and how you could win $50 gift card to spend at MOSA!!  love you guys for listening!!

This plaid has me hardcore craving cooler temps and late nights by the fire, who's with me?  Luckily, were headed to the mountains this weekend, and I could not be more excited!!  I have every chunky knit sweater I could find, packed up and the s'mores are ready.  I rented this (what looks to be) adorable ski shalet through Airbnb.  Has anyone booked through them before??  Im anxious to see if its as cute as I think its going to be.  I really love fall, like more than the average person.  Especially living in the country, you really get to experience all the beauty of the leaves changing.  So, usually I shoot downtown charleston or in the main part of my town, but I thought id give you a more realistic glimpse of my day to day.  We live in small town USA, aka the boro.   no big buildings, NO Starbucks!!!  The struggle is real, people.  But my home brewing skills are pretty legit, and I don't charge fifty cents for extra syrup.  Priority number one when living in farm country, is footwear!  Boots are basically a must have.  No heels needed this deep in the south, unless u don't mind them getting stuck in mud, and I most definitely mind.  I love the harness style boot because its just good old All American but with a little more edge than a cowboy boot.  So of course, my all American plaid seemed like the perfect pairing and this fringe bag that I scooped up during my blogger stay at has officially become my new "mom bag" for fall.   of course I still switch out to match my outfits, but this one is fully loaded and permanently planted by the door until suede is no longer in season.
