Skin.Party.Fashion

I had the privilege of attending the SPF{Skin.Party.Fashion} Event at the SPA at Belmond Charleston Place two weeks ago, and seeing as it benefited cancer research at M.U.S.C. , I felt it was my duty to support and also to let y'all in on why this is a cause so dear to my heart.
I know many of you follow my instagram, so you've noticed the numerous posts from the hospital, but I haven't gone much in to detail as to what's going on. (at this point, if you are uninterested and only wish to enjoy the fashion aspect of my blog, I suggest you scroll to the bottom. No judgment from me, I promise!!)
without going into too much detail, here are the cliff notes to our current speed bump in life;  6 weeks ago, my youngest son, Lincoln, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma.  (don't worry, I'd never heard of it either.)   it is a form of cancer that affects children and is usually generated in the adrenal gland, which was the case with Linc. He showed no signs, he had no symptoms.  By the grace of God, the mass was discovered during a routine ultrasound on his abdomen for a non-related issue.
fast forward through 3 surgeries, every scan/test under the sun and a biopsy or two, I am currently holding my beautiful child as he sleeps in my arms while the chemo is being pumped through his port.  This is his second round with 6 more to go.
We are so incredibly grateful for all the love and support surrounding us, and for the amazing team at MUSC Children's Hospital who are holding our hand through this journey.
Lincoln is so strong and so happy and I know this will soon be just a memory.
if you wish to stay up to date on his journey, you can check out www.LincolnJoseph.com or follow his facebook page TeamLinc
As for the fashion aspect of this post, knowing this was a poolside event, I knew I wanted something airy and fun!!  and thank goodness, because this was literally one of the muggiest nights EVER, with the rain spitting on us throughout the night, so please excuse the sweat and frizz.
this maxi skirt is a flower child's dream!!  and the crochet tank hit perfectly at the waistband to give the slightest peekaboo of skin.  I went with this green clutch to add a pop of unexpected color and layered on my gold with a few touches of turquoise.  Although you cant see my shoes, they're the perfect brown wedge, but I think just about any strappy sandal would do the trick as long as the heel is high enough to allow the hem to just grace the floor!!

Happy Memorial Day Lovies!!
I hope everyone is getting to enjoy this gorgeous day off and soak up some rays of patriotism!
I myself am enjoying my usual mundane Monday duties of cleaning and laundry, but fingers crossed i finish up in time to shop a few sales before the day is done!!
I found this blazer for $15, no joke!!  at the GAP outlet a few weeks ago and of course, im a sucker for a deal, but also, its giving me chanel-esque vibes, so I couldn't help myself.
to really let the jacket pop, i kept my palate a nice crisp white.
this white tank is a basic but i especially love the high neck line.  it's a bit more flattering with the blazer and it really allows all my necklaces to layer nicely.
i chose cutoffs, because i never like to look too polished.  its just not my style, so the denim gives me the slightest hint of edge that im always looking for.
my shoes are my latest obsession, but, you would know this if you follow my insta.
they're funky white perfection and I've already gotten my fair share of use in just under a week!
and, if you love them as much as i do they are on sale TODAY!!  link is below!

my bag was another steal from tj's for $30 and again, its very chanel inspired with the quilted leather and chain straps.  and i really love the pop of cobalt for just about any outfit.
of course, its all gold on gold when it comes to my accessories!

when in rome

i am finally getting to show off my favorite vintage purchase to date!!
I found this chain belt at a local estate sale and have been obsessing over it ever since!!  I have gotten the chance to wear it a handful of times, but this is the first chance I've had to share it with y'all!!
I literally build this entire outfit around the belt.  it can be a bit tricky, because you need the proper waistline to really showcase the coins, but I thought this peplum top was the perfect backdrop to give it a shining moment!!  I paired it with these silk shorts print (which we all know i'm drawn to)
wore my favorite wannabe valentine heels and left the color for my accessories.
now, lets get back to this estate sale business . . . . have you ever been to one?
I found it a bit disconcerting, as you literally are walking through someone's home and plundering through a lifetime of belongings.  it was an experience to remember, but for now, I think i'll stick to my thrift shops and antique stores, they're a bit less intrusive!!

nothing makes me happier than leopard!!  but you knew that by now, right??  I know you've seen me wear this bomber before, and truthfully, the weather is getting a bit too hot, but I can't help myself!!
and I love it paired with these Edgemont skinnies!!  well really, I love anything paired with these skinnies, because they're just that good!  I want them in every color!!  the fit is beyond comfortable and the zippers, lets just say, i'm OBSESSED!!!  they just up the edge and take any look to a whole new level.  lucky for me, you can really get away with white year round here, so I will undoubtedly get my money's worth!!
leopard and stripes are always an easy pairing, so I chose this knit tank and added some touches of silver in my aviators and heels.
really, this is a pretty simple look in my book, but oh soo cool!!
