the simple life

i know i pride myself on being a big city girl, and trust me, those bright lights will never stop calling my name, but there is something to be said for the beauty and appeal of a small town life. the skies are blue, the grass is green and you can literally see miles and miles of God's creation, untainted, in all its glory.  this is where most weekends of ours are spent, enjoying the simple life, and the more i go, the more i never want to leave.  for obvious reasons, my style always turns toward bohemian.  I've worn this outfit for multiple occasions, but it seems to fit best in the boro.  i just love this top and the way it falls so perfectly and it lightens up the leopard shorts giving them a more feminine feel.  i hope you have a fabulous Monday!!  take a minute to take a deep breath and enjoy the day, tomorrow will be here soon enough.

purple rain

back to boho today in what is most definitely one of my favorite purchases this summer.  i have worn this dress more times than i can count.  obviously, i love my leopard prints, but it is quite possibly the most comfortable dress ive ever slipped myself into.  for today's time around, i dressed it up a bit with these lace-up sandals and faux leather fringe jacket.  i added a few more touches of black with my cross body and ray-bans and layered on lots of gold accessories.  my wood bangles are both so old, but i just love way they play off the prints in the dress.  a few pops of neon give it the just enough punch with my poppy manicure, cobalt stone necklace, and lime lace trim bralette.  in speaking of undergarments, i ALWAYS opt to wear them!!!  (and HELLO!! you should too!!!)  i know it can be tough sometimes if something is too shear or too strappy, but that just calls for some creativity!!  there are so many options these days, from beautiful bralettes to sticky boobs, you can always find a fix.  i tend to go the "let it show" route, and buy up as many pretty, bright, lacey bras i can find.  they're made to be seen, and i let them do just that!!

dj play my favorite song

ok, not that this is a very often occasion, but sometimes this chica likes the strap on her sassy shoes and dance the night away!!!  I mean, who doesn't love a night on the town with their girls, cutting up and letting loose??  this is my ideal outfit for just that!  I have an aversion to dresses, not that I don't own plenty, but if i can help it, I opt for separates.  I feel like any girl can throw on a dress and heels and call it a night, but to really own your look and showcase your style, a skirt is the way to go.  this pleated faux leather mini is a fave of mine!  I have worn it time and time again, and always switch up the top.  (just recently with a crop tee for a day playing "stylist")  but for a night out, i like to up the ante, so i paired it with this geo print peplum.  the embroidery and ribbon trimming on this top is so intricate and cool, making it an easy choice.  i emphasized the pink with my wannabe Canterbury satchel and topped it off with lace-up sandals and houndstooth sunnies.  keeping my jewelry to a minimum (i think the top had enough to say) i pulled my sunburst button studs from the archives and left my neck and wrist bare.

boho band girl

if you follow my insta, you've probably seen these shorts a time or two, and that's because I cant stop wearing them!!  as if the leopard print wasn't enough to suck me in, they are incredibly comfortable, super chic, and trimmed in raw edge lace.  (plus they're only $30!!!)  can you say total SCORE!!  thanks to my instatique (instagram boutique) obsession, I found these at the minted exchange which is the same shop I snagged last weeks floral kimono (SEEN HERE)!!  I have worn them a multitude of ways by now, but my first instinct, as with most of my leopard bottoms, was to pair it with a rocker tee.  this acdc tank has been in my wardrobe for a minute, see it worn HERE in the fall with leopard fur, shocking!!  I added a lil boho with this tassel necklace, again something I've had and continue to add tassels and gems etc, depending on the outfit.  my flops have become my sandal of the summer thanks to the neutral shade and gold studs and these metallic sunnies make every outfit fun.  this black crossbody was an easy addition for convenience purposes with the munchkins and the perforated detail is reminiscent of the cleobella bag I could never bring myself to pay for.  another super score from TJ's!!!
