product of the 90s

I may have been born in the 80's, but I grew up in the 90's and its pretty funny to see the trends come back around.  remember when grunge was all the rave?  and doc martins were like the coolest boots ever??  i don't know how far I've come, because I still have an overabundance of plaid and chunky boots will always be cool in my book!  so of course, when I saw this tee, I just had to snatch it!  the big block lettering and football sleeve are so on point and I don't need much of an excuse to embrace my inner "clueless" and take it back to the good old days.  if you lived it, or have ever seen the movie (who hasn't?) you know that layers are a must!  and while they might not have been "coat-slinging" in my day, we were definitely tying one on for added grunge appeal.  I paired this look with a chunky peek-a-bootie to keep in the vibe and some oversized sunnies, which are potentially more from the 60's era, but who's checking?  all in all, i feel like the bad girl skipping class to hang out behind the bleachers!  leather has a way of making me overly confident and way cooler than I actually am, but a girl can pretend, right?

a touch of blush

i guess i've been a bit into monochromatic dressing lately, or truly just shades of nude/blush.  its totally unintentional, but i do find it flattering to wear clothing in the same color family.  i've also, really been into pleated midis of late.  they're uber feminine and a tad vintage inspired and perfect for sunday service!  i found this lace Free People version at Marshalls, marked down to $15!!  i was so stoked, i didn't even bother trying it on, i knew i could make it work!  the pink lace is delicate and the leather waistband is an unexpected edge that only FP would think of.  i paired it with this chambray tank that's been in my closet for quite some time and layered up with this fab faux fur.  ivory accessories seemed appropriate given the fancy vibe, and my rockstud wannabes are always my first choice!  i even snagged another pair in black, bringing my tally up to 3 now, and i'm debating getting the red ones.  don't judge, i have a problem, trust me i know!!
i hope you all enjoy the rest of your hump day, and be sure to check back on friday because i have some very exciting news to share with you!!!

pearl complexion

I must start by apologizing, because I feel like i've been phoning it in lately and focusing more on getting a post live than actually putting the time in to talking about my looks.  as I said on Monday, so much has happened over the last few months, and its been hard to juggle.  I do so much appreciate all your support and patience.  with that said, lets talk fashion!!
as women, it is a daily struggle to love ourselves and embrace our bodies.  I know for myself, looking good makes me feel good, so putting in the extra effort to fix my hair and put on some lipstick can make all the difference.  but I still have my days where nothing looks good, I feel bloated, my skin is broken out, etc etc.  you see how we beat ourselves up??  we will always have bad days, but i try to remind myself, this is the body God gave me, it is able, it is strong, it has given me 2 of the most gorgeous boys i could ever dream of calling my own and my flaws are what makes me unique.  there is no other you, you are irreplaceable and you are beautiful!!  remember that ladies!!
so todays look is all about embracing myself and my body.  i love my rocker persona, but underneath the sunnies and bold lips, i am just a girl.
i love a good midi skirt, i feel like they suck you in and keep you classy while still showing off your feminine physique.  this high-waisted style is the perfect shade of blush and i just love the front slit.  i paired it with this pearl embellished blouse for a monochromatic look and strapped on my faux studs.  this is my nude.  every girl has their shade and most fall in the tan family, but i myself am extremely pale, and even with the help of a spray tan (which i always have!  so yes, this is me tan!) my natural complexion is that of a pinky hue.
i challenge you, to embrace the body you were given!  find styles that flatter and make you feel like the best possible you!!

layers of lace

i cannot believe we are already halfway through October and still were reaching temps in the 90s!  no complaints here, its giving me the opportunity to wear this gorgeous top without a jacket so you can really see all the beauty it has to offer!  the delicate layers of lace and tiny polka dots are so feminine and I love the sweetheart illusion it gives at the bust.  i paired it with this fab necklace and my vintage pearl rings and gold clutch.  my fave skinnies are the perfect bottom for any occasion, so i rolled the hem and added a pop of color with my patent pumps.  something about white (or ivory) with denim just always looks fresh and crisp, and any pop of color makes it fun!
