indigo road

Happy Fall Y'all!!!! Or Yinz, if you're a fellow "burgher". I am so excited to start adding (more) layers to my wardrobe and busting out the boots.  for most of the country, the chill is already starting to set in and sweater weather is in full swing, but for us here in sunny Charleston, were still experiencing summer temps reaching the high 80's most days.  This makes fall a tad tricky, so today I'm giving you 2 ways to style your fall wardrobe.  This grungy goddess dress from My Kind of Lovely is everything!!! I have already worn it half a dozen times and even ordered it in the green as well because it is quite possibly the easiest, most comfortable thing to ever grace my body.   The side slits are fun to play around with and tie it up a couple different ways.  My "wear now" look is a bit more summer-ish thanks to all the white accessories, but if you read my last post you know I have no plans of putting away my whites for winter.  I knotted the front to the back and layered on this beaded boho tassel from Swell Caroline.  I love a long beaded necklace, don't you?  This one comes in 5 different colors, so I had a bit of a hard time choosing, but the grays and blues felt very transitional to me, and it pops off this indigo quite perfectly.
For my "wear later" look, I switched out my sandals for booties and threw on a floppy hat.  This backpack is truly the game changer and packs a punch in tango red.  Is anyone else obsessing over backpacks for fall?  It's totally not fair to let the kids have all the fun, so I have been carrying this cutie with me everywhere.  Plus she doubles up as a great diaper bag/everything but the kitchen sink mom tote.  Should fall weather decide to show up, I will totally be layering on a jacket to take this dress into winter.

white this way

happy friday and cheers to cooler temps!!!  i have been loving these 70 degree days and i really hope charleston has gotten the fall memo, because i've already switched over my wardrobe and put away my summer duds.  something i have not put away, nor do i have any intention of putting away is all of my whites.  i am a firm believer that white is a year round color, and i actually find it to be that much chicer when worn in layers during the fall/winter months.  i paired my go to white skinnies with this lace up top from sheinside.  i am super stoked about their selection right now.  its so on trend and the quality is surprisingly great considering the low price points.  i have been seeing the lace up tops all over my instafeed, so i just had to try one out for myself, which was probably a bad idea, because now i feel like i need one in every color.  its basically a basic (hehe) but the laces add enough detail to elevate it to a more dressier look than your simple tee.  so, you may have noticed, i've basically eliminated all bright colors from my wardrobe.  its actually not a new thing, i think i was just experimenting a bit while i was pregnant, but my everyday go to is more of a muted palette.  and coming into fall, i've pretty much only purchased denim, white, black and olive.  its just so easy to mix and match.  what's not muted are my accessories.  as a general rule for shoes and bags, if it comes in a color, i buy the color!!  or more importantly, if it comes in a print (ie leopard or python) buy the print!  i feel like you can always find a great neutral bag, so i never really focus on them when shopping.  this lady like pink purse has been one of my go-tos for a soft pop of color as we enter into a new season.  it reminds me of a briefcase my dad used to have when we were kids.  i love the lock!!  and the fact that it can be worn cross-body is always a bonus for me when im running around with the kiddos.  i hope y'all have an amazing weekend!!  i'm excited to get outside and play without melting, and drinking lots and lots of pumpkin spice lattes!!  cheers to fall!!

coffee shop confessions

good morning babes!!!  i am so excited for today's look because not only do i love it, but i get to show off my insanely talented friends work!!  seriously you guys, how good are these images??  i had the hardest time narrowing down the pics because one was better than the next and i cannot get enough of the moody vibes.  we were shooting for an upcoming project of his that i know will be amazing!!  so basically, he needed head shots of me in my favorite restaurant, but since i don't eat (kidding!) i suggested we partake in my favorite food group, caffeine!!  i love everything about a coffee shop; the smell of fresh beans, the pastries, the latte art, it all makes me a very happy girl.  so The Daily seemed ideal for our little photo sesh.  of course, he made me take off my sunnies for a few shots, which i wasn't happy about, but i was totally prepared for, so i went full on fall smokey shadow with a big bold lip.  now, for my outfit, yes, there's a lot of lady lumps going on today, i know, but i kinda like it.  i'm not usually a fan of the whole body-con look.  separates, sure, but a dress can be tricky, especially when you've had children and the pooch is ever present.  i will say, it is insanely comfortable. so i sucked it in as best i could for you guys and slung a jacket over my shoulders for good measure.  i absolutely love this brownish grey hue, and i'm desperately on the hunt to add more of it to my fall wardrobe.  i mixed up my metals with my shoes and accessories and even this antler clutch is 2-tone and i mean, die right?  it's pretty much THE most perfect clutch ever.  this look has me totally in the mood for fall, now if only i could look like this everyday?!
