topknots for tibi

Hampden Clothing teamed up with Tibi PR to put on a Fall Presentation Runway Show a couple of weeks ago, and I had the privilege of attending!!
It fell on a Thursday night, which was a welcome "fashion break" to my regular mommy routine and even though it only lasted a couple of hours, I relished in the freedom of dressing up and hanging with my girls while gawking at the fall fashions that graced the catwalk.
I apologize for not taking my camera and snapping any runway looks, but thanks to Charleston Street Style, you can check them out HERE
Tibi tends to be a line full of bright colors and bold prints so I used that as inspiration when choosing my outfit.
This pink midi skirt is perfection and while I would usually pair it with a blousy top tucked in, I was feeling brazen and went for an edgier look with this criss cross crop top.  My metallic sandals are a go to now a days and gave the look an extra pop of color.  I wanted to keep the "cool girl" vibe going and channeled my inner "manrepeller" by topping it off with a denim jacket.
in not taking away from the neckline, I chose earrings over a necklace and pulled my hair up for a change.  i'm growing out my bangs (as if you couldn't tell) and the middle part worked well with my messy topknot.
excuse the photos, my girl was out with an injury, so the hubs had to put his camera man skills to the test to get these late night shots for ya'll.  and of course, Nix wanted in on the action!!
"fashion is not something that exists in dresses only.  fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."

special thanks to Terrence Edwards of Terrence Shot Me for capturing me at the event!!

boho purple piko + giveaway

casual Saturdays are my favorite, and for whatever reason, heading to the boro puts me in a boho mood.  i found these shorts at tjmaxx for a ridiculous steal!!  i love the embroidered pockets with the pop of neon.  its that added touch that i always look for to make a cheap item look expensive!!
so playing off the shorts, i paired it with this neon clutch and layered on accessories.
if you follow my instagram, you know i switched out the wedges for some simple sandals.
while these Dolce Vitas are a comfy option, they're not 100 percent mommy proof and i had Linc in arms for most of the day as we shopped along Main Street.
Lastly, and the best part of it all, is this lavender piko!!
if you haven't already snatched up one of these tees you should!!  they come in every color imaginable as well as multiple fits, but the one thing that always stays the same is its insane level of comfort!!!  i wear this top everywhere!!  from daytime to bedtime, sloppy tucked or 80's knot, this is a must have basic for your closet!!
which is why, i'm giving 1 away!!!
check out my instagram: @misstarabelle for how to enter
winner will be announced on Friday, good luck chicas!!

navy blue confidential

I don't know why I've been in such a fancy mood lately, usually i'm all cutoffs and rocker tees, but I've been embracing my womanhood lately and choosing more feminine pieces.
Don't let the photograph fool you, i'm not actually this curvy, but that's the beauty of fashion.  You can easily find pieces to give the perception of a body you might not actually own!
You know by now I love some midi skirts.  I find it humorous that they're called high-waist when actually it just hits at your true waist!  and the knee length is super flattering on all shapes giving you that long lean line with the illusion of a curve.
the bustier top has been popping up everywhere and I've been holding on to this one for a while.  I just needed to find the perfect bottom to style it with.  again, its giving me a bit more than I've actually got, but i'm definitely not complaining.
I still felt a bit "exposed" so the shawl definitely came in handy and added a touch of class.
(sexy class, but class none the less)
its a bit monochromatic so the pop of pink/red makes a great splash to break up all that navy!
I promise to get back to my rocker roots, eventually!

tuxedo dreams

considering I haven't worked an office job for quite some time; and even then, it was a short lived gig; suits are not a typical outfit in my rotation.  blazers, however, are a definite wardrobe staple of mine for all seasons.  I'm especially fond of this style because its a bit androgynous with the slim lapel and long length and the color and fabric are optimal for layering year round.
i am still totally obsessing over the pajama inspired lounge pants and have added quite a few more pairs to my collection!  this particular pair has been in my closet for quite some time, but they are also a perfect year round staple.  the color can be a bit tricky to style, as its almost a muted peach, but i love it with neutrals.  i think a white tee would've gone great as well, but i couldn't break myself away from this chambray blouse.  it is so lightweight, it feels like butter to the touch (and lucky for ya'll, it is currently on sale at AE!!  click the link below)
simple gold accessories and a crisp white bag to polish off my pajama suit!

faux fringe, bandage & booties

 happy Friday lovelies!!
admittedly, I have not been out on a Friday night in far too long, but that doesn't mean I can't dress as if I have a social life, right??
after scrolling through my late night, night life photos, I noticed a bit of a trend . . . . apparently hot pink, black and denim are my go-to color combo for a night on the town, and almost always are they paired with some sort of leopard shoe.
I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it, so here I go again with my fave collab of colors!!
i love a bandage skirt; i have a bit of a collection and although the midi skirt is the more popular style of the moment, i still think you can't go wrong with this classic mini
denim is always a go to for everyday of my life and this short sleeve chambray tee is a perfect balance to the hot pink and leather.  it gives it a downtown vibe without looking over-styled.
of course i let the accessories do all the talking and since neon is still a huge trend i will be wearing my favorite bib for another summer.
i think the collar style has technically run its course, but until i find a good replacement, this will be my go to neck candy!!
what's your signature late night style??  do you like to glam it up, or dress it down??
