buds

ok, so don't let this outfit fool you, it actually has nothing to do with valentines or being in love or any of the other gag worthy crap spewed all over social media yesterday.  i actually didn't even realize how vday appropriate it was until this very moment.  btw, hope you had a lovely day of gag inducing love.  i cleaned my house and ate all the kids candy spent the better part of my evening folding laundry and watching bravo.  it was super special, let me tell ya.

splattered

ok, so obviously today's look is a bit more relaxed than what you've grown accustomed to seeing me in, but i'm thinking you're just gonna have to get used to it, because my heels are few and far between at the moment.  1 in stilettos?  totally manageable. 2?  tricky but still doable.  3?? . . . . . I mean, seriously??  unless we're going to church or lots of extra arms are around, it's the flats life for me.  between nursing this babe, chasing after my psycho 2 year old and keeping up with my ultra-inquisitive 4 year old, this momma is wore slap out!!!  and yes, I realize that sounds very southern of me to say, but I have 3 impressionable pairs of ears now, so i'm trying to subdue my yankee sass and learn from these good ole belles down south who put everything so eloquently.  truly, they can make pooping your pants sound like you just found a pot of gold in your britches.  and if I hear "bless your heart" one more time, I swear.  (in case you're unaware, that's the lowest of blows a woman can receive.  they might be blessing you, but it's not in the Christian way I assure you)  but I digress, let's talk fashion shall we??  like I said, I've been rocking a slightly modified version of fashion these days, so today's look is all about the mommy uniform.  I basically live in this world where fashion meets comfort.  I could never be one of those women that runs around in yoga pants and a ratty t-shirt all day.  i'm sure it would make life easier, but I have way too much pride and a definite overdose of vanity, to truly embrace "bumming it", so this my friends, is my version of dressed down.  I like my mommy outfits to be versatile, durable, and most importantly, washable!  the first element will most likely include some form of a bf, whether it be jeans or shorts depends on the weather and if I've had a chance to spray on a tan or not.  these boyfriends are my newest addition to the fam, and I am pretty obsessed.  well, obsessed might be an understatement, because I have pretty much lived in them because A. they're ridiculously comfortable B. they're splattered with paint which means sticky fingers and juice stains are welcome and only add to the color palate, and C. because i'm a mom and it's totally socially acceptable for you to wear the same thing for a week straight.  but seriously you guys, mom or not, these pants are the bomb.com.  the second element of any good mom uniform is a blousy top.  but think cotton, definitely not silk!!  i'm a big fan of graphic tees and button downs, and I live for the sloppy tuck.  it's basically a haphazard way of slipping the front part of your shirt into your pants to show that you have a waist band while simultaneously hiding your pooch.  this top is actually a true "nursing blouse" if you can believe that, and from the pin tuck to the flutter sleeve, it's pretty much perfect for every summer occasion, nursing or not.  ok, so the third element is obvious with a great pair of flats.  if you follow my insta, you know I love some good kicks, but the summer is all about sandals!  I have already accumulated like 10 new pair (it's becoming a problem) but I'm loving the slip on style for grab and go and these guys are uber cheap.  lastly, and most importantly in my book, every mom uniform needs accessories!!  for me that means, sunnies, lipstick, and arm candy overkill!!  bangles are my bauble of choice and I have been rockin some serious stacks lately.  I think it's my way of coping with the lack of height.

peachy keen

yay, happy Friday!!!
I have to be honest, I am really struggling trying to keep a schedule with this new little addition.  if he's not eating or pooping, he's sleeping and all I want to do is stare at him all day while trying to keep 2 crazy toddlers from jumping all over him.  its a balance i have yet to master, so my posts will most likely be pretty sporadic the next few weeks, but I promise i will do my best to quickly get through the last of my maternity looks.  its been so gloomy all week, so I though I would brighten it up a bit with this pretty little peach blouse.  my bestie owns this amazing pop-up shop Synergy Style and lucky me, I get first dibs on all the goodies!!  this blouse was oh so perfect to priss up this big boy bump (and ps, its totally not maternity, i just bumped up a size) so the moment i saw it, I knew it was a must have!!  I always love peach/blush tones against my pale complexion and the lace trim is so feminine and flattering.  I paired them with light wash skinnies (also non-maternity, but totally rockin the belly band to make them fit) and lots of white and pearl accessories to match the trim.  thanks for hangin in there with me, i hope you all have a wonderful (hopefully dry) weekend!!!

Road to Romance

my ADD self is skipping around a bit and taking you back to my Friday night CFW look.  I promise i'll go back to Thursday's islander look, but I just love this look so much, I couldn't wait to share!  Belk's style statement of the night was Garden Party and I also had the privilege of working with the nights sponsor, Alex and Ani who was showcasing their newest collection Road to Romance, so the themes mashed together so perfectly to create this floral frenzy look!  Before i get to the good stuff (ie: the deets of this outfit), let's discuss the events of the evening!!  i kicked off the night scoping out the latest goods to hit the Style Lounge.  the Alex and Ani booth is always tempting because a girl can just never have too many bangles, am i right??  with the exception of adding the initial of our newest babe to be, i have officially completed my sentimental stack and started adding some fillers and stone wraps to my collection.  the Road to Romance Collection offers some seriously stunning stones in both the pale pink or baby blue family, but my favorite is the rosette beads on the collections signature bangle.  we'll talk about that stack in a second ;)  also new to A+A is the addition of leather goods!  did y'all know they carry handbags??  this was definitely news to me, but one smell of that buttery leather and I was sold.  the Gabriel collection offers the perfect essential styles for every girl so, being a clutch kinda girl, the fold over is my fave and even though I snagged the Earth shade, their new batch of colors has me seriously contemplating the Shoreline and Tidal shades as well!!
moving on to the main tent, the runway shows commenced.  I always look forward to the spring styles of the local boutiques and the fall trends from emerging designers, which did not disappoint, but the highlight of the night was the Rock the Runway show.  think America's Next Top Model meets Project Runway.  15 Models work the runway for a panel of judges who choose 1 male and 1 female winner.  I can only imagine the nerves and I definitely would have no clue how to judge, but I give mad props to all the models who walk.
simply being an average (and very pregnant) girl, I was slightly hesitant to wear this look that was shown on the runway in Tuesday nights Tres Carmen show.  but, having fallen in love with the floral print and pleated waist, I knew I couldn't possibly find a more fitting outfit to meet the Garden Party/Road to Romance vibe of the night.  just as on the runway, I paired the floral maxi with this black lace crop top and layered a black bralette underneath to cover my ninnies.  I replaced the black sash belt with this skinny leopard for a little pattern play and added even more color with these baby blue lace up heels.  sticking to a pink theme for the rest of my accessories, i wore these super fab tassel earrings and my brand new road to romance bangles and added one more mix of prints with this kaleidoscope clutch (and the fact the stones matched my sunnies to perfection was definitely not an accident!)  a pop of pink on my lips and loose finger waves completed the look.  i just loved everything about everything of this night!!

monday basics

phew, this momma here is exhausted!!  you know when you just have one of those days when nothing seems to go right??  today was that day!!  on top of us just arriving home after a week long trip the burgh, today is also hubbies bday and I had a list as long as my arm of errands to run.  unfortunately I barely checked 1 thing on my list and my house is still a wreck and nothing has been unpacked, so after the day that I had, the last thing I wanted was a phone reminder letting me know there's only 10 days until Christmas!!  how the heck did that happen??  they say the older we get, the faster time flies, and boy ain't that the truth!  so Monday held up to her end of the bargain and reiterated why I dislike her so much.  but tomorrow's another day, and I've got 3 of the sweetest boys making every bad day better, plus the blessing of the bun cooking in the oven, so its really hard to complain.
todays look is all about flowy stripes and stretch jeans!  pregnant or not, this is always the perfect Monday outfit.  after eating my weekends into oblivion and squeezing into my Sundays best, Mondays are more of a casually chic kinda day.  this dolman tee is easy breezy and camouflages my food/baby belly with ease.  I paired it with these dark skinnies that literally fit like leggings, they're that comfortable!!  these lace ups add a bit of intrigue and keep the look from feeling to loungey, plus gold accessories to pack a punch.  so here's to Monday!  im ending this day with a smile and a laugh, because what else is there to do?
